Winthrop (5-10, 2-3) used the eight-goal lead that it built up in the first half against Coastal (4-11, 2-4) to take a 16-10 win over the Chanticleers in Monday's lacrosse match at Eagle Field. Despite the large deficit after the opening half, the Chanticleers battled to the end, outscoring the Eagles 7-5 in the second.
Due to inclement weather, Saturday's women's lacrosse game between Coastal Carolina and Winthrop in Rock Hill has been postponed until Monday, April 21 at 4 p.m.
