Women's Golf Finishes Fifth at Edwin Watts/Palmetto Invitational

KIAWAH ISLAND, SC -- Coastal Carolina's women's golf team wrapped up the fall portion of its schedule with a fifth-place finish at the Edwin Watts/Palmetto Invitational, Nov. 1-2. The tournament was held at Kiawah Island's Oak Point Golf Club and was hosted by the College of Charleston.

Campbell took home the team title with a 54-hole total of 882, three shots better than runner-up Michigan. CCU shot 890 in the event, including firing a 293 in the final round, the team's best score of the tournament.

Individually, the Lady Chanticleers were led by sophomore Katy Heher, as she tied for seventh at 219, six shots behind medalist Adrienne Millican of East Carolina at 213.  Rachel Graves tied for 23rd at 225, while Line Cordes, Lindsey Letzig and Natalie Cruse all tied for 26th at 226.

The women will next be in action Fri.-Sun., Mar. 3-5, 2005 at the Pinehurst Challenge in Pinehurst, NC.
