KIAWAH ISLAND, S.C. -- The Coastal Carolina women's golf team sits in second after one round of the Edwin Watts/Palmetto Intercollegiate, Oct. 31. The 54-hole tournament, hosted by College of Charleston, is being contested at Oak Point Golf Course in Kiawah Island, S.C.
The Lady Chanticleers shot 303 in the opening round and trail first-round leader Campbell by two shots. However, CCU is five shots better than Illinois (308) in third and six shots ahead of Idaho (309) in fourth.
Freshman Ann Maness is tied for the lead through the first 18 holes, having shot a one-over 73 in the first round. Senior Lindsey Letzig is two shots behind at 75, teid for 11th, while sophomore Rachel Graves is tied for 16th at 76.
Nine holes of the second round have already been played, with the final 27 holes of the tournament to be played, Tue., Nov. 1, starting at 8:15 a.m.
