Women's Golf Ties For Seventh At Lady Paladin Invite

GREENVILLE, S.C. -- Coastal Carolina's women's golf team tied for seventh at the 2005 Lady Paladin Invitational, Oct. 14-16. The 54-hole event, hosted by Furman University, was contested at the Furman University Golf Club (Par 72 - 6,103 yards) in Greenville, S.C.

The Lady Chanticleers stayed in the top seven throughout the tournament, eventually finishing at 922 to tie with UNC Wilmington. Furman won its own tournament with a three-round total of 894, five shots better than runner-up Mississippi State. CCU did defeat conference rival Winthrop by 11 shots, as the Eagles tied for 13th.

Coastal was led by freshman Ann Maness, who posted her third consecutive top 20 finish, tying for 10th at nine-over 225. Senior Lindsey Letzig and junior Katy Heher tied for 41st at 17-over 233.

The defending Big South Conference champion Lady Chants will next be in action, Fri.-Sun., Oct. 21-23 at the East Carolina Taco Bell Intercollegiate. The tournament will be played at Bradford Creek Golf Club in Greenville, N.C.
