GREENVILLE, NC - Coastal Carolinas womens golf team continued their impressive play in the early part of the year, sitting in second after the first two rounds of the 2004 Taco Bell Intercollegiate hosted by East Carolina. The 54-hole event is being hosted at the par-72, 6, 093-yard Bradford Creek Golf Club.
Coastal Carolina continued firing school top-10 scores in the first two rounds, going 297 in the opening round and then shooting the second-best round in school history with a 292 in the second round to trail leader Augusta State by five shots. Augusta State shot a tournament record 287 in the second round, while host East Carolina sits in third just one shot behind CCU and six behind the leaders.
Patti Hogeboom of Augusta State leads the individuals with a three-under 141, while Coastals Line Cordes fired a two-under 70 in the second round and is tied for fourth at even-par 144. Rachel Graves (147) and Lindsey Letzig (148) are tied for 10th and 13th, respectively, while Natalie Cruse is tied for 22nd at 150. Katy Heher rounds out the team effort at 152, good for a tie for 37th, while Dannielle Renner, playing as an individual, is tied for 46th at 154.
The final round will be played Tue., Oct. 12, with Coastal Carolina playing with Augusta State and East Carolina in the final groups of the day, starting at 8:30 a.m.
