Women's Golf Moves Up to Third After Two Rounds at Bay Tree

NORTH MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. -- Coastal Carolina's women's golf team made a strong move to jump to third through two rounds of the Unlimited Potential/Bay Tree Classic, Sept. 24. The 54-hole tournament, hosted by the College of Charleston, is being played at Bay Tree Golf Plantation (Par 72 - 6,007 yards) in North Myrtle Beach, S.C.

The Lady Chanticleers were eighth after an opening round 312 but rebounded with the tournament's best round of 298, the only score to break 300 on Day Two, to move up five spots in the team standings at 610. Middle Tennessee State sits in the lead at 602 with Cincinnati is five shots behind at 607. Host College of Charleston is one shot behind Coastal at 611.

Freshman Ann Maness leads the Lady Chanticleers through 36 holes, as she currently is tied for ninth at six-over 150 after firing an even par 72 in the second round. Junior Katy Heher is next in a tie for 11th at 151, while sophomore Rachel Graves and freshman Richelle Wedzik are tied for 30th at 157.

The final round of the tournament will be held Sun., Sept. 25, starting at 8 a.m.
