Women's Golf Places Eighth At Napa River Grill Cardinal Cup

LOUISVILLE, KY. -- Coastal Carolina's women's golf team moved up in the final round to finish eighth at the Napa River Grill Cardinal Cup, Sept. 19-20. The 54-hole tournament, hosted by the University of Louisville, was contested at the Cardinal Club Golf Course (Par 72 - 6,181 yards) in Louisville, Ky.
The Chanticleers entered the final round in a tie for ninth with Southern Mississippi but moved up to eighth with a final round 313 to finish at 953. Georgia State captured the team title with a 54-hole total of 894, while Kentucky was runner-up at 907.
Freshman Ann Maness, in her first collegiate tournament, led the Lady Chanticleers, tying for 16th with a 234. Junior Katy Heher tied for 25th at 236, while senior Lindsey Letzig was next for CCU in a tie for 31st at 238.
The Lady Chanticleers are right back in action this Fri.-Sun., Sept. 23-25 at the Unlimited Potential/Bay Tree Classic. The tournament will be played at the Bay Tree Golf Plantation in North Myrtle Beach, S.C.
