Women's Golf's Felgueroso Tied for Fourth After 36 Holes at NCAA East Regional
BATON ROUGE, LA. - Coastal Carolina freshman Aruka Felgueroso shot her second straight under-par round and moved up to a tie for fourth after two rounds of the 2007 NCAA Women's Golf East Regional in Baton Rouge, La., May 10. The 54-hole tournament, hosted by Louisiana State University, is being contested at the University Golf Club (Par 72 - 6,403 yards), May 10-12, with the top eight teams and two individuals not on those squads from each of the three regions advancing to the NCAA Championships at LPGA International in Daytona Beach, Fla., May 22-25.
Felgueroso followed up her four-under 68 in the first round (four birdies, no bogeys) with a two-under 70 (three birdies, one bogey) to post a six-under 138 through 36 holes, tying her with Kathleen Ekey of Furman, Auburn's Nicole Hage, UCLA's Tiffany Joh and Caroline Westrup of Florida State. UCLA's Sydnee Michaels is in first at 10-under 134 with Nannette Hill of Wake Forest two shots behind in second at eight-under 136.
Felgueroso will play her final round Sat., May 12, teeing off the 10th hole at 8:00 am. CDT, playing with Lene Krog of East Carolina and Mississippi State's Amanda Mathis.
