Hansen Completes Play at Lubbock Region; Has Best Scoring Season in Program History
Lubbock, Texas - Coastal Carolina University's Malene Krolboll Hansen completed play at the 2017 NCAA Women's Golf Lubbock Region with an even-par 72 on the final day of competition.
Hansen had shot a 76 during the opening round and followed that up with a five-over 77 in yesterday's action. Today's even-par round had the junior finish with a nine-over 225, tied for 45th overall.
Hansen just completed one of the best seasons in CCU women's golf history. Her 72.40 stroke average entering regional action was the top scoring season in the history of the program.
On the season she had four top five finishes, including a win at the Golfweek Conference Challenge where she shot a program-record nine-under 207 in her first place finish.
Along the way, Hansen had another tournament where she finished among the top 10 individuals and added two more top-20 finishes. She also had three rounds shot in the 60's and added 17 rounds of par or better scoring.
Hansen will enter her senior campaign with the lowest average in school history at 73.36. She has played 31 events with nine top-five finishes and a total of 14 finishes in the top 10.
She has a career-total of nine rounds in the 60's and 38 rounds of par or better.
This past season she was a two-time Sun Belt Player of the Week honoree and was named 2017 First Team All-Sun Belt along with being named to the 2017 Sun Belt All-Tournament Team following her fourth place tournament finish.
Before the Chanticleers entered the Sun Belt, she was a two-time All-Big South selection along with being a two-time All-Big South Tournament Team honoree. During her freshman campaign, Hansen was named to the Big South All-Freshman Team and was named the Big South Freshman of the Year.
