Hansen off to Texas
Conway - Malene Krolboll Hansen is off the Lubbock, Texas for the 2017 Women’s Division I Golf Championship Lubbock Regional which is being played at The Rawls Golf Course. Texas Tech, one of 18 teams at the regional, will play host to the event.
The Regional runs Monday, May 8 through Wednesday, May 10.
Hansen made the field as one of the top individual players in the nation. In the latest individual rankings released by Golfweek Magazine, she is ranked among the top-100 players in the nation.
The junior had one of the top seasons in CCU history, finishing with a 72.40 average, which is the best single-season average in CCU women’s golf history. She won the Golfweek Conference Challenge and finished the season with four top-five finishes, five top-10 finishes and finished in the top 20 six times.
Following the season she was named 2017 First Team All-Sun Belt, and was also named to the All-Sun Belt Tournament Team following her fourth place finish.
Lena Schaeffner was the last CCU golfer to play as an individual at the Nationals, finishing with a 236 in 2015 at The Concessions Golf Course in Bradenton, Fla.
