Women's Golf Moves up One Spot after Second Day at El Tigre
Day 2 Results
Puerto Vallarta, Mexico - The Coastal Carolina women's golf team knocked five strokes off their first round score in shooting a 298 on day two of the Hawkeye El Tigre Invitational.
Malene Krolboll Hansen shot an even-par 72 to lead the second day of action for the Chanticleers. She heads into the final round with a three-over 147 (75-72) and is tied for 10th overall.
Damla Bilgic's second day of action revealed another strong outing as she finished the day with a two-day total 147 (73-74), tied with teammate Hansen at three-over and is tied with Hansen for 10th overall.
Ending the second round with a 150 (74-76) was Marie Lunackova. She stands six-over par and is tied for 23rd.
Victoria Parker (83-76) and Stephanie Henning (81-78) both finished with 15-over 159's. Parker knocked seven strokes off her first day total and Henning knocked off three strokes. Both players will enter the third day of competition tied for 60th.
CCU moved up one spot during today's round and stands sixth with a 25-over par 601 (303-298). Wisconsin made a late run over the last few holes and took over the top spot with a 586 (299-287). Texas-San Antonio also had a strong day two and stands in second place only five shots behind Wisconsin with a 591 (297-294).
Rounding out the top five are Washington (295-298-593), Kansas (301-295-596) and Kennesaw State (303-296-599), who is only two strokes in front of the Chanticleers.
