STOCKBRIDGE, GA. -- Coastal Caroina's women's golf squad moved up two spots in the final round to finish sixth at the 2006 John Kirk/Lady Panther Intercollegiate, Apr. 2-3. The 36-hole event was contested at the Eagle's Landing Golf Club (Par 72 - 6,009 yards) in Stockbridge, Ga.

The Lady Chanticleers fired 302 in the first round and followed it up with 303 to finish at 605, 20 shots behind team champion Maryland at 585. Louisville was second at 590, with Big South Conference rival Birmingham-Southern in third at 596.

Freshman Aruka Felgueroso continued her string of top-10 finishes with her third straight, tying for seventh at one-over 145. Sophomore Ann Maness was next for CCU in a tie for 24th at 152, while freshman Johanna Rodert tied for 30th at 153.

The Lady Chants will now take to the road for the 2007 PUPS Big South Conference Women's Golf Championship, Mon.-Wed., Apr. 9-11 at Coosaw Creek CC in Charleston, S.C., with the league's automatic bid to the 2007 NCAA Regionals going to the champion of the 54-hole event.
