CHARLOTTE, N.C. - Coastal Carolina women's golfer Aruka Felgueroso has been named the Choice Hotels Big South Co-Women's Golfer of the Week, along with Winthrop's Rachel Smith, it was announced today by the Conference office. The honors are for events played Feb. 28-March 17, while this is the the fourth time this season that Felgueroso has picked up the league's weekly honor.
Felgueroso posted her fifth and sixth top 10 finishes of the season in two recent tournaments. The Madrid, Spain senior tied for 10th at the March 1-2 UCF Challenge with a 7-over par 223 (74-75-74), helping the Chanticleers to a third-place finish. Felgueroso then earned her second medalist honor of 2009-10 by winning the March 7-8 Administaff Lady Jaguar Intercollegiate by four strokes. She carded a 3-over 219 (74-77-68), and her 4-under 68 in the final round was the lowest of the tournament. Her performance led Coastal Carolina to the team title.
Coastal returns to the course Mon.-Tue., March 22-23 at the Pinehurst Challenge at Pinehurst Resort #6 in Pinehurst, N.C.
