PINEHURST, N.C. -- The Coastal Carolina women's golf team is tied for 11th after the first round of the Edwin Watts/Pinehurst Challenge, Mar. 12. The 54-hole event is being hosted by College of Charleston at Pinehurst #8 (Par 72 - 5,954 Yards) in Pinehurst, N.C.
The Lady Chanticleers shot 318 in the opening round and are tied with Miami (Fla.). Maryland leads the three-day tournament at 302, while Mississippi State is in second just two shots behind.
Coastal is led by sophomore Rachel Graves (Essex, England/Colne Community), who shot a 77 in the first round and is tied for 17th. Senior Lindsey Letzig (Richmond, Mo./Richmond) is next for CCU in a tie for 29th at 78.
The second round of the 54-hole event will be played Monday, Mar. 13, starting with tee times at 8:00 a.m.
