KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – The Coastal Carolina women’s golf team sits in 13th place after two rounds of the Mercedes-Benz Women’s Collegiate Championships from the Holston Hills Country Club.

The Chanticleers shot a 301 in round two and a 304 on the first day and enter the final day of competition with an overall score of 605.  Tournament host Tennessee is the overall leader for the second straight day after shooting a 284 Saturday for an overall score of 564.  The Lady Vols are 20 strokes ahead of second place TCU (584).

Sophomore Jessica Alexander is tied for 15th overall and is currently the top participant for the Chanticleers.  Alexander shot 72 in the first round and 74 in the second round for an overall score of 146. 

Senior Alicia Grier improved her position by 10 spots on Saturday and is now tied for 46th place after shooting a 75.  She enters the final day with a score of 153 following her 78 on Friday.  Freshman Courtney Boe shot a 74 in the second round and moved up 17 places and is tied for 46th place with Grier. 

Junior Kaitlin Higginbotham stands tied for 56th place with a score of 154, while sophomore Brittany Henderson is tied for 76th place with a score of 162. 

The Chanticleers will take part in the final day of the event Sunday morning from hole 10 at 9 a.m.
