MACON, GA. --  Coastal Carolina University women's golf squad finished fourth at the 2009 Eat A Peach Collegiate, Oct. 4-5. The two-day, 36-hole tournament, hosted by Mercer University, was played at Idle Hour Country Club (Par 72 - 6,181 yards) in Macon, Ga.

The Chanticleers shot a 309 in the final round to finish at 30-over 606 in fourth, one shot ahead of Georgia Southern in fifth at 607 and two ahead of UCF at 608. No. 9 Georgia rallied from third to take the tournament title at 23-over 599, one shot ahead of No. 19 Florida State and No. 39 Furman, both at 24-over 600 in a tie for second.

Coastal was led by senior Aruka Felgueroso, who finished in a tie for third at 3-over 147 with Georgia State's Cathrine Madsen, seven shots behind medalist Marta Silva Zamora of Georgia. Freshman Jessica Alexander posted her second straight top-15 finish, tying for 13th at 7-over 151, while junior Alicia Grier tied for 17th at 8-over 152. Freshman Brittany Henderson posted a 12-over 156, tying for 33rd, while junior Carmen Jones tied for 50th at 18-over 162.

The Chanticleers will wrap up their fall schedule at the 2009 Wendy's Invitational, hosted by Charleston Southern. The tournament will be played Mon.-Tue., Oct. 19-20 at Coosaw Creek Country Club in Charleston, S.C.
