Women's Golf Moves Up Four Spots in Final Day of Action

Wolcott, Colo. - Coastal Carolina's women's golf team completed play at the Golfweek Conference Challenge with their best outing of the early season.

CCU finished the final day of competition with a two-under 286, the fourth-best round of the day. It was also the best round of the season and is tied for the 10th best single round in women's golf history. The Chanticleers moved up four spots with their third-day finish to finish tied for 11th with an 891 total (300-305-286).

CCU had three golfers finish under par in achieving the solid score.

Malene Krolboll Hansen had another stellar performance finishing with a 2-under 70. It was the 39th time in her distinguished career she has shot a round of par or better. Her three-day total of even-par 216 (74-72-70) placed her among the top-10 finishers with a tie for eighth. It is the 15th time she has had a top-10 finish.

Sophomore Stephanie Henning had the best round of her career. Like Hansen, Henning shot a two-under 70 in today's round setting her career-best 18-hole score. She finished the tournament 12-over with a 228 (73-85-70) to finish tied for 55th.

Frantiska Lunackova completed her first collegiate tournament as a Chanticleer with a one-under 71. She had a three-day total 223 (78-74-71) to finish seven over and tied for 34th.

Sena Ersoy did not start the day off as she had planned, scoring a nine on her first hole of the day, but the CCU newcomer bounced back nicely going two-under the rest of the day to card a three-over 75. She finished the tourney with a 12-over 228 (75-78-75) to finish tied with teammate Henning at 55th.

Marie Lunackova carded her tourney best with a five-over 77 in today's final round. She finished tied for 82nd with a three-day score of 240 (82-81-77).

The Chanticleers will be back in action Oct. 9-10 at the Pinehurst Challenge in Pinehurst, N.C. The event is hosted by College of Charleston and will be played at Pinehurst #1 course.
