VAIL, Colo. – The Coastal Carolina women’s golf sits in 16th place after 36 holes at the Golfweek Conference Challenge from the Fazio Course at the Red Sky Golf Club.
The Chanticleers shot a 316 on the second day of the tournament and improved six strokes after firing a 322 Sunday on the first day.
UC Davis leads the way after two rounds and is 11 shots over par with a score of 587.
Senior Alicia Grier led the way for Coastal on the second day and finished the afternoon with two birdies and a score of 77. Grier fired a 79 in the first round and now stands tied for 51st place with a combined score of 156.
Junior Kaitlin Higginbotham shot a 78 in the second round and an 80 Sunday in the first round and is now tied for 54th place with her total score of 158. Freshman Courtney Boe turned in a score of 81 in both rounds and currently sits tied with teammate Jessica Alexander for 67th place. Alexander shot an 80 in the second round and an 82 in the first round for her combined score of 162.
Taylor Slagle stands in fifth place for the Chanticleers and is tied for 88th overall following rounds of 82 and 86.
The Chanticleers put the finishing touches on the tournament Tuesday in the third and final round.
