Women's Golf 11th after Opening Day at Golfweek Conference Championship

Wolcott, Colo. -- Coastal Carolina’s women’s golf team opened play in their second meet of the season, the Golfweek Conference Challenge.  The three-day event is being played at the Red Sky Golf Club at the Fazio Course located in Wolcott, Colo.

The Chanticleers finished the first day of action with a 12-over 300 and tied for 11th place.

Stephanie Henning shot a career-best one-over 73 in the first day of action.  She shot a 35 (-1) on the first nine holes and followed that up with a 38 (+2) on the back nine.  She is tied for 24th.

Malene Krolboll Hansen was just one shot back of Henning finishing the day with a two-over 74.  She opened the event shooting a two-under 34 on the first nine holes and followed that up with a 40.  She will go into tomorrow’s action tied for 27th.

Sena Ersoy was playing in her second event as a member of the Chanticleers program.  She shot a one-under 35 during the day’s opening nine holes and followed that up with a four-over 40 on the back nine.  Her 74 has her tied for 39th.

Frantiska Lunackova, playing in her first collegiate event, had a solid six-over 78.  After shooting a 40 (+4) on the opening nine holes, she shot a 38 (+2) on the back nine.  She will head into tomorrow’s round in tied for 57th place.

Marie Lunackova finished the first day’s action with an 82 (40-42).  She finished the opening round tied for 80th.

San Diego State leads the event at one-over, while Michigan and Pepperdine are tied for second at two-over. Host Denver, is fourth at four-over and SMU rounds out the top-five at five-over.
