MYRTLE BEACH - Coastal Carolina's Courtney Boe is tied for fifth on the individual leaderboard after the first round of play at the High Point-hosted Myrtle Beach Invitational, played at Myrtle Beach National's South Course.
High Point leads in the team standings with a score of 299 followed by Gardner-Webb (309), Winthrop (310) Presbyterian College (320), Radford (325) and The Citadel (342). Boe, along with fellow Chanticleers Emee Herbert, Ashley Yarbrough and Saskia Sterud are competing as individuals.
Boe, who benefitted from several par-saving putts, carded a 2-over 74 over the 18 holes of play, tying for fifth with Gardner-Webb's Taylor Dodson. Herbert is tied for ninth in the 41-competitor field after carding a 5-over 77. Yarbrough currently sits tied for 13th, posting an 8-over 80 for her first round as a Chanticleer. Sterud, who is also making her Chanticleer debut, fired an 82 on the day and is tied for 23rd overall.
The ladies will tee off on the second and final round of the Invitational on Tuesday at 8:10 a.m.
