Vail, Colo. - Coastal Carolina women's golf team posted a three-round total of 917 to finish in a tie for 9th in the Golfweek Conference Challenge at Red Sky Golf Club.

Kaitlin Higginbotham was the low Chanticleer finishing in a tie for 11th, after firing scores of 69-81-75 (225). Jessica Alexander finished ten spots behind Higginbotham in a tie for 21st place with a three-round total of 228.

Freshman Frida Castillo was the only Coastal golfer to shoot three rounds in the 70s (79-78-75) to finish in a tie for 39th place.

Brittany Henderson had the highlight of the tournament recording a hole-in-one on the 145-yard par 3 ninth hole, her final hole of the day. The ace put her in red numbers with a 1-under 35 on the front nine, totaling a 77 on the day. Henderson finished in a tie for 57th. Courtney Boe, playing in her first tournament of the year, finished with a 243, putting her in a tie for 73rd.

Oklahoma went home with the team Championship and Chirapat Jao-Javanil of Oklahoma was the individual medalist after shooting one-over par for the tournament to win by three strokes.

The Chanticleers return to the links October 7-9 at the Lady Tarheel Invitational played at the Finley Golf Course in Chapel Hill, N.C.
