GREENVILLE, N.C. - The Coastal Carolina University women's golf team wrapped up the 2009-10 season with a tie for 19th at the 2010 NCAA East Regional, May 6-8. The three-day, 54-hole tournament, hosted by East Carolina University, is being played at Ironwood Country Club (Par 72 - 6,321 yards) in Greenville, N.C.

Playing in the afternoon wave, the Chanticleers fought the course to post a 308 on the day and a 47-over 911 for the tournament, tying with Stetson for 19th. South Carolina took home the top team in the event with an even-par 864, two shots ahead of runner-up Tennessee at 866 and four shots ahead of Duke and Auburn in a tie for third. Auburn, Vanderbilt, Tulane, Pepperdine and TCU also advanced to the NCAA Championship, as the top eight teams and two individuals not on advancing teams earned berths in this year's final event.

Coastal was led by senior Aruka Felgueroso, who shot team-best 3-over 75 in her final collegiate round and finished at 6-over 222 in a tie for 39th. Junior Alicia Grier was next in a tie for 54th at 8-over 224, with freshman Brittany Henderson next in the line at 234, tying for 95th. Freshmen Jessica Alexander (235) and Taylor Slagle (237) rounded out the Chanticleers' effort, tying for 101st and 107th, respectively. For the tournament, Coastal had 14 of 15 rounds in the 70s.

Felgueroso became just the second player in Big South Women's Golf history to play in a NCAA Regional in each of her four years, playing twice as an individual and twice with the Chanticleers in a team effort.
