AUGUSTA, Ga. - Seniors Jessica Alexander and Brittany Henderson are tied for seventh on the individual leaderboard and have Coastal Carolina tied for fifth as a team after two rounds of play at the 18-team Insperity Lady Jaguar Intercollegiate hosted by Augusta State at the Forest Hills Golf Club in Augusta, Ga.

Henderson shot the Chanticleers’ low round of the day, carding an even-par 72 on the 6,214-yard course. Alexander turned in a 3-over 75 on her second round. Joining the Coastal senior duo in the top third of the field is sophomore Frida Castillo, who also posted a 3-over 75. Freshmen Lena Schaeffner and Marissa Hinchman each carded a 6-over 75 their second time around the course.

Ninth-ranked Vanderbilt leads the team scoring with a two-day, 7-over tally of 583 (290-293). No. 16 Purdue is right behind the Commodores with a two-round score of 586 (295-291). Notre Dame (303-290=593), ranked 26th nationally, sits third followed by the host Augusta State (305-294=599). The Chanticleers (304-300) and East Carolina (310-294) round out the top five in the team standings with matching 604 (+28) tallies.

Henderson, who is four strokes over on the tournament with a 36-hole score of 148, shaved four strokes off her opening round 76 en route to her even-par 72. She finished the day level with four birdies to counter her four bogeys. Alexander (73-75=148) turned in three birdies on the day, but was hampered by a pair of double bogeys. The Florida native has been one of the best in the tournament on the par-4 holes, playing them at a combined 1-over.

Castillo is tied for 26th in the 99-competitor field with a 36-hole score of 153 (78-75). After bogeying two of her first three holes, she settled in and played the rest of the course at 1-over, including a birdie on the 487-yard, par-5 sixth hole.

Schaeffner (77-78=155) stands tied for 37th individually, while Hinchman (80-78=158) is tied for 50th. Including one today, Schaeffner has tallied five birdies at the event. Hinchman has been stellar on the par-3 holes, combining to play the eight holes at 1-over.

The tournament concludes with a final 18 holes on Sunday.
