Women's Golf Finishes Eighth at Bay Area Meadow Club
Fairfax, Calif. - Coastal Carolina's women's golf team shot a final round 293, finishing with a final three-day total 857 (299-305-293) to finish eighth at the 13-team Bay Area Meadow Club Women's Intercollegiate, played at the Meadow Club Golf Course.
The tournament was the toughest of the season for the Chanticleers as over half of the field was nationally ranked with 28th-ranked San Diego State winning the event after shooting an even par 288 in today's final action finishing with a six-over 870.
Brigham Young, the 33rd-ranked team in the nation finished with a 10-over 874 while 30th-ranked Illinois finished third with an 881 (+17).
California, the highest ranked team in the tournament at 27th, finished fourth (882) followed by #35 Michigan (888), #43 San Jose State (891), #36 Pepperdine (896) and CCU.
Like all the events this season, Malene Krolboll Hansen led CCU. She shot a final round 71 and tied for seventh with a 217 total (72-74-71). Damla Bilgic, seeing her first action this spring, shot a 76, finishing with a three-day total 224 (73-75-76) to finish tied for 23rd.
Victoria Parker improved her performance each day finishing with a 74 in the final round and tied for 36th overall with a three-day total of 228 (78-76-74).
The Chanticleers will be back in action March 17-19 when they travel to Augusta, Ga., to play in the 3M Augusta Invitational.
