SORRENTO, Fla. - The Coastal Carolina women’s golf team had two players shoot a 74 and posted a 304 Tuesday in the third and final round of UCF Challenge, played at the Red Tail Golf Club.

Auburn, ranked third in the nation by Golfstat, won with a 54-hole score of 863, followed by No. 22 Baylor (865), Tulane (873) and host Central Florida (873). Coastal Carolina finished with a score of 915 (303-308-304) to tie for 14th with Southeastern Conference member Mississippi State in the 18 team field.

Smith Falls, Ontario native Brittany Henderson was the Chanticleers’ top finisher in the tournament as she carded a three-round score of 219 to place 14th (tied) overall. Henderson finished her final 18 holes with a two-over 74 – her second in as many rounds. The junior knocked down two birdies on the day, including one of only five on the par 4 400-yard fifth hole, to go along with her 15 pars.

Frida Castillo recorded the second best round of her young collegiate career as she turned in the Chants’ second 74 on the day. The freshman played one-over through 12 holes but a double bogey set her back to plus-3 with six to play. Castillo then played the final five holes one-under, propelling her to a three-round total of 235 (81-80-74).

Kaitlin Higginbotham finished second in the Coastal contingent with a 54-hole score of 229 to tie for 58th overall. The senior carded a 79 on the day with a birdie on the 469-yard par 5 second hole.

Jessica Alexander and Courtney Boe rounded out Coastal's fivesome. Alexander tied for 74th with a three-round tally of 232, while Boe finished 97 carding a 247.

The Chanticleers will return to action Feb. 20-21 at the Central District Invitational, played at the River Wilderness Golf Club in Parrish, Fla.
