Women's Basketball Defeated by James Madison, 69-49
HARRISONBURG, VA -- Junior forward Nadine Morgan scored a season-high 20 points and grabbed eight rebounds to lead James Madison (5-2) to a 69-49 win over Coastal Carolina (2-3) in women's basketball Friday night at the JMU Convocation Center.
Morgan was one of four JMU players in double figures as the Dukes won their 13th consecutive home game. Junior forward Shanna Price added 14 points, senior center Hollee Franklin had 11 points and a game-high nine rebounds, and senior guard Allyson Keener scored 11 points, had a season-high seven rebounds and handed out five assists.
JMU's 13-game home winning streak includes the final nine games of the 2000-01 season. The Dukes' last home defeat was a 65-62 loss to George Mason on Jan. 4, 2001.
Coastal Carolina red-shirt sophomore Nikki Reddick was the game's leading scorer with 23 points and was the only Chanticleer in double figures.
JMU scored the game's first six points and never trailed. The Dukes led by 10 (35-25) at halftime) and led by as many as 24 points (61-37 at 8:04) in the second half.
