Last Meeting: Coastal Carolina used hot shooting and swarming defensive pressure to pull out to as much as a 19-point first half lead and held Gardner-Webb at bay in the second half to secure a 54-40 victory at Kimbel Arena on Feb. 4, 2012.
Coastal is seeking its first road win of the season and first win away from Conway since its 66-56 victory at Western Carolina on Nov. 22, 2011.
Coastal Carolina and Gardner-Webb have compiled identical records to this point in the season as both are 4-2 with each win coming on their respective home floors.
The Chanticleers lead the Big South Conference in scoring defense, surrendering only 48.0 points per game.
Two Chants have already posted double-doubles this season compared to only four total double-doubles during the 2011-12 campaign.
Guard AJ Jordan ranks second in the conference with a 1.27 assist to turnover ratio while also ranking eighth in the league in scoring at 12.8 points per game.

Coastal Carolina and Gardner-Webb have met on nine previous occasions with the Runnin' Bulldogs claiming victories in six of those match ups. The sides first met in the 2008-09 season when Gardner-Webb joined the Big South from the Atlantic Sun Conference. Coastal won the first two meetings before Gardner-Webb reeled off six straight victories. Coastal broke its skid against Gardner-Webb with a 54-40 win in last season's second meeting.

The Runnin' Bulldogs enter the game with a 4-2 record with each victory coming at home. Catrina Green leads the Gardner-Webb attack averaging 11.0 rebounds per contest. Green is also the Runnin' Bulldogs leading rebounder, grabbing 9.2 caroms per contest.
Gardner-Webb ranks third in the Big South in scoring offense, averaging 67.0 points per outing. In addition, the Runnin' Bulldogs rank second in the league allowing opponents only 50.7 points per contest.

Since veteran head coach Alan LeForce came to Coastal Carolina prior to the 1997-98 season, the Chanticleers have been know for their defensive prowess. And this season is no exception. The Chants rank in the top half of the Big South in every defensive category, including the top spot in scoring defense (48.0 ppg) and 3-point field goal defense (.200).

Coastal Carolina holds a 4-7 record in games played on Dec. 1. The Chants first played on Dec. 1 during the 1986-87 season and were defeated by Wake Forest in each squad's season-opener. Coastal won 84-39 in its last game played on Dec. 1 against Converse in the 2007-08 season. Coastal is 2-2 on Dec. 1 during the LeForce era.
Not A Bad Debut
Freshman Megan Pittman made her collegiate debut on Nov. 24 at IPFW after missing the first five games of the season recovering from an injury. The heralded Liberty, Ky., product scored four points and pulled down three rebounds, while also adding a blocked shot in her nine minutes of play.
