CHARLOTTE, NC -- The Big South Conference has announced that Coastal Carolina University sophomore guard Nikki Reddick is the first Player of the Week honored by the League for the 2001-2002 women's basketball season.

Reddick, a native of Hartsville, South Carolina, averaged 31.0 points, 3.0 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 4.5 steals per game in the Lady Chanticleers first two outings of the season. She scored 28 points, all in the second half, in Coastal's 57-37 season-opening victory over Coker College. Reddick bettered that performance against East Tennessee State when she posted a career-high 34 points.
