Women's Basketball Picked Fourth in Big South Preseason Poll

CHARLOTTE, N.C.- The Coastal Carolina University women’s basketball team has been picked to finish fourth in the 2003-04 Big South Preseason Poll, announced Oct. 8 at the Big South Conference media day. Coastal also had senior Nikki Reddick (Hartsville, S.C./Hartsville) named to the Preseason All-Big South Team.

Liberty University was picked to win its eighth straight Big South title. Conference newcomer Birmingham-Southern College was voted second, followed by High Point University, Coastal, Radford University, Charleston Southern University, Winthrop University and the University of North Carolina at Asheville.

Reddick is a two-time All-Big South First Team member and was the 2002 Advance Auto Parts Big South Tournament Most Valuable Player. Reddick averaged 20.7 points per game in 2002-03, tops in the Big South, and needs only 130 points to become Coastal’s all-time leading scorer.

Coastal opens the 2003-04 season Friday, Nov. 21, against Anderson College in Kimbel Arena. Game time is at 7 p.m.
