CONWAY - The inaugural basketball game in The HTC Center, 10 non-conference games and a home date with perennial power North Carolina highlight the 2012-13 Coastal Carolina women's basketball schedule released today by veteran head coach Alan LeForce.

The Chants open the season at College of Charleston on Friday, Nov. 9 before hosting North Carolina Central in the program's first game inside The HTC Center on Monday, Nov. 12.

Other games of note are a home contest against Southern Conference foe Western Carolina (Nov. 17), and road games at IPFW (Nov. 24), at South Carolina State (Dec. 18) and a game at the Myrtle Beach Convention Center against North Florida (Dec. 19) in the team's annual Carolinas Challenge appearance.

"We are really excited about this year's schedule," said LeForce. "We have some quality opponents that we are eager to play. We are a young, but experienced team and our out-of-conference schedule will go a long way in helping us prepare for Big South play."

With the addition of Longwood as the Big South's 11th women's basketball member forcing the conference from an 18 to 20 game league schedule, this season's first conference clash takes place on Dec. 1 at Gardner-Webb.

The Chants' first Big South home date of 2013 will be Jan. 5, welcoming Lowcountry rival Charleston Southern. Other home conference games include High Point (Jan. 10), Liberty (Jan. 12), UNC Asheville (Jan. 26), Longwood (Jan. 31), Radford (Feb. 2), Presbyterian (Feb. 14) and Gardner-Webb (Feb. 16).

The Big South Tournament - the visitmyrtlebeach.com Basketball Championships - will be played from March 6-10 at the HTC Center.
