CONWAY, S.C. Trips to NCAA participants Cincinnati (Dec. 7) and North Carolina (Feb. 24) highlight the 2002-03 Coastal Carolina University Women's Basketball schedule released Friday afternoon by Head Coach Alan LeForce.
The Lady Chants will open up the regular season with a pair of home games starting with Coker College on Nov. 23, then Campbell on the 26th. CCU will round out the month of November with a trip to in-state foe Wofford on the 29th.
Coastal opens up the month of December with a pair of road contests at College of Charleston (Dec. 2) and Cincinnati before returning to Kimbel Arena on the 18th to face East Tennessee State. CCU will then take on UNC Wilmington on Dec. 20 at the Myrtle Beach Convention Center, before closing out the 2002 calender year with a trip to Furman (Dec. 29).
"Our non-conference schedule again this season is very demanding," said coach LeForce. "Even though it is challenging, I believe that it will not only prepare us for conference play, it will help our program grow as a team throughout the year."
The Lady Chants will begin Big South play, on the road against Radford (Jan. 2) and six-time defending Big South Champion Liberty (Jan. 4), before returning home to host High Point on Jan. 11.
This year's team returns all five starters from last season's 11-18 squad, including first team All-Big South Conference and Tournament MVP, junior guard Nikki Reddick
