Women's Basketball Adds Reynolds to Signing Class

CONWAY, S.C. – The Coastal Carolina University women’s basketball program has announced the signing of Kendra Reynolds (South Bend, Ind./Olney Central J.C.) to a National Letter-of-Intent. Reynolds becomes the third student-athlete in Head Coach Alan LeForce’s signing class for the 2008-09 school year.   Reynolds was an All-Conference and All-Region selection last season at Olney Central Junior College. She also was the runner-up for the GRAC Rookie of the Year. Reynolds started her collegiate career at Indiana State University, where she earned the Star Student Award in 2005-06.   Reynolds attended Riley High School in South Bend, Ind., where she was a two-time First Team All-Conference selection for the Wildcats. She also was a two-time team Most Valuable Player and a four-year varsity starter. She earned the Catfighter Award for defense her sophomore year and was the only freshman to start every game in 2001-02, helping the Wildcats to the state finals for the first time in school history.   “Kendra will bring maturity and toughness to our program,” LeForce said. “She has good skills around the basket and has a good shot. We are excited about all three players in our recruiting class.”   Reynolds joins Taylor Epley (Newburgh, Ind./Castle) and Olivia Irick (Columbia, S.C./Keenan) in Coastal’s 2008-09 signing class.   Coastal ended the 2007-08 season with a 16-12 record and will return eight letterwinners to next year’s squad.
