Women's Basketball, Reddick, Receives Tryout With WNBA's Charlotte Sting

CONWAY, S.C.- Former Coastal Carolina University women’s basketball player Nikki Reddick (Hartsville, S.C./Hartsville) has been invited to a tryout for the Women’s National Basketball Association’s (WNBA) Charlotte Sting. The tryout is Tuesday, April 20, in Charlotte.

Reddick was a three-time All-Big South FIrst Team selection, becoming only the fifth player in the conference to earn the honor three times. In her senior season, Reddick averaged 18.7 points, second in the league, 4.8 rebounds and 2.7 assists. She became Coastal’s all-time leading scorer Dec. 16 against UNC Wilmington and fininshed second all-time in Big South history with 2,026 points. She had a season high 36 points in a 66-65 win over UNC Greensboro Dec. 6. Reddick was one of 50 finalist for the Bayer Senior CLASS award, given to the nation’s top women’s basketball player. She scored in double figures 92 times in her career and scored 20 or more points in a game 42 times. Reddick also is a three-time All-Big South Tournament selection, including garnering Tournament MVP honors in 2002. She also is Coastal’s all-time leader in games played, as she saw action in 114 games.

Charlotte is coming off an 18-16 record last season. The Sting advanced to the first round of the WNBA playoffs, falling to Connecticut 2-0.
