Women's Basketball's Dill Invited to WNBA Pre-Draft Camp in Cleveland

CONWAY, S.C. – Coastal Carolina University women’s basketball player Alisha Dill (Johnson City, Tenn./Science Hill) has been invited to participate in the WNBA Pre-Draft Camp March 30-31 at Cleveland State University in Cleveland, Ohio.

The camp, which will feature approximately 40 top global prospects, will take place in conjunction with the WNBA Draft April 4 in Cleveland. The draft will last three rounds featuring 13 teams and will be covered by ESPN2, ESPNU and NBA TV. It is a conclusion to a week-long celebration of events surrounding women’s basketball which includes the NCAA Women’s Final Four April 1 and 3.

Dill has been featured in the Draft Tracker on WNBA.com. In the recent article "Top Prospects by Position", the website lists Dill as a sleeper at shooting guard, saying "She is an excellent athlete. She is quick, can shoot well and has great leaping ability. When you see her, you just know that she is an athlete. She may be at a small school, but she has a big game."

Dill became the second Coastal women’s basketball player to earn Big South Player of the Year honors, while averaging 22.5 points, 4.3 rebounds and 2.9 assists per game. She broke Coastal’s all-time single-season scoring record in both total points (652) and points per game. Her scoring average is sixth in the country as of March 23. Dill had a 76.8 free-throw shooting percentage and led the team with 62 three-pointers. She had a season high 33 points against Campbell Dec. 11 and scored 26 or more points 11 times this season. Dill was a four-time Big South Player of the Week honoree. She also earned First Team All-Big South honors to go along with her All-Big South Second Team honor last season.

Coastal Carolina ended the season with an 18-11 overall record and a 9-5 Big South record. The 18 wins in the regular season tied Coastal’s record for wins in a regular season by a Division I program. The Lady Chants bowed out of the Big South Tournament to eventual Big South Tournament champion UNC Asheville March 8.
