CONWAY - AJ Jordan and Jas Adams of the Coastal Carolina women's basketball team were among those to be named All-Big South selections on Monday as the conference released its annual postseason awards. Jordan was voted first team All-Big South by the league's head coaches and was also included on the All-Academic Team, while Adams was named a member of the All-Freshman team.

Jordan, who was named first team all-conference after the 2013-14 season, becomes the first Chanticleer to earn the honor in consecutive seasons since Nikki Reddick was voted first team three straight years from 2001-04.

The senior guard from Coalfield, Tenn., closed the regular season averaging a career-high 17.0 points, and 18.5 points against conference opponents, to claim the Big South's scoring title. Her 201 made field goals additionally made her the conference's leader in the category for the second straight season. Jordan also ranks sixth in the league in field goal percentage (47.2 percent), sixth in free throw percentage (72.9 percent), 12th in steals (1.38 spg) and second in minutes played (33.62 mpg).

To date, Jordan has nine 20-plus point performances this season, including a career-high 36 points in Coastal's double-overtime game versus Presbyterian. She is the Chants' third-leading rebounder, averaging 5.1 boards per game, and is second on the team in both assists and steals with 60 and 40, respectively.

Jordan, a communications major with a 3.5 GPA, made the All-Academic Team for the second straight season.

Adams, a freshman guard from Winston-Salem, N.C., earned nine starts and played in 29 games during her first season in a Chanticleer uniform. Her 8.8 points per game this season made her Coastal's fourth-leading scorer, but she elevated her play once Coastal's conference schedule began, and averaged 10.4 points per game to rank 22nd in the league in scoring. Adams finished in double figures 11 times in her 20 Big South appearances and had a career-high 23 points in Coastal's win over Winthrop on Jan. 17.

Adams was clutch from the free throw line all season, shooting 79.1 percent from the stripe (72-91) to rank second on the team and top-five in the Big South. She also averaged 4.2 rebounds per game, 2.25 assists per game and 1.10 steals per game.

Adam's All-Freshman selection marks the first time in the program's history that a Chanticleer rookie has earned the distinction in back-to-back seasons, as Karsen Sims was named All-Freshman after the 2013-14 season.

High Point's Stacia Robertson was named Big South Player of the Year, garnering three first-place votes and 133 total points to finish just ahead of Jordan, who received two first-place votes and 127 total points.

Presbyterian's Cortney Storey was named Big South Freshman of the Year, earning four first-place votes and 33 total points to finish ahead of Adams' two first-place votes and 29 total points.

Winthrop's Schaquilla Nunn was named Defensive Player of the Year, while Radford's Mike McGuire was Big South Coach of the Year and Liberty's Ashley Rininger was voted Scholar-Athlete of the Year by the league's sports information directors.

The Chanticleer women enter the Big South Tournament as the ninth seed and will take on No. 8 UNC Asheville in the 6 p.m. game on Tuesday at The HTC Center. For ticket information, contact the Coastal Carolina Ticket Office at 843-347-8499 or by visiting GoCCUSports.com/tickets.
