CoSIDA Academic All-District Teams

Senior guard Jas Adams of the Coastal Carolina women's basketball team was named to the CoSIDA Academic All-District 4 team, as voted upon by the College Sports Information Directors of America. Adams carries a 3.52 GPA in management, and received her degree from Coastal Carolina this past December.

Adams is just the third Chanticleer in program history to earn the distinction, joining Amanda Stull (2008-09, 2009-10) and Katie White (2010-11).

To be eligible for CoSIDA Academic All-District, the student-athlete must be a starter or important reserve with legitimate athletic credentials. Nominees must have a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.30, and have reached sophomore athletic and academic standing at their institution.

The first-team Academic All-District honorees advance to the CoSIDA Academic All-America ballot, with first-, second- and third-team Academic All-America honorees to be announced in March.

Adams is currently leading the Sun Belt Conference in both scoring (18.7 ppg) and playing time (36.3 mpg), while also ranking second in 3-pointers per game (2.6), fourth in free throw percentage (80.6), fifth in 3-point field goal percentage (37.4). The Winston-Salem, N.C., native has started all 26 games for the Chants this season, and has scored in double digits in all but three of those contests.

Adams recently became the 15h student-athlete in program history to score 1,000 career points, and is currently 12th among Coastal's all-time career scorers. Entering Thursday night's game at Little Rock, she is 13 points away from becoming the ninth student-athlete in program history to score 500 points in a season.
