ASHEVILLE, NC — Coastal Carolina's women's basketball team dropped a costly game as the season winds down, falling to Winthrop, 84-67, Wednesday night at Kimbel Arena. The Lady Eagles hit 27-of-36 from the free throw line, as they broke the tie for sixth place with Coastal. Winthrop improves to 5-8 in the Big South, 9-17 overall, while the Lady Chants drop to 4-9 in the Big South, 8-17 overall.

The Lady Eagles opened the scoring a minute into the game on Laura Herman's jumper, and never trailed from there, shooting a season-high 55 percent from the field.
