Dill Named Big South Women's Basketball Player of the Week

Coastal Carolina University senior Alisha Dill (Johnson City, Tenn./Science Hill) has been named the Big South Conference Choice Hotels Player of the Week in women’s basketball, while Tina DeCarvalho of Charleston Southern was tabbed New Balance Freshman of the Week for games played Jan. 29-Feb. 4, the League announced today.

Dill, a senior from Johnson City, Tenn., averaged 25.5 points per game as the Lady Chanticleers went 1-1 on the week. She got her week started with 25 points against Winthrop on 41 percent shooting from the floor, six treys and 5-of-8 from the line. She also added seven rebounds, six assists, two steals and a block in the 60-55 win over the Lady Eagles on Jan. 31. Three days later against High Point, Dill put in 26 points and pulled down two boards to go along with an assist and a steal against the Panthers. For the week, Dill shot 39 percent from the floor and 39 percent from downtown, while notching nine rebounds, seven assists and three steals. Dill is currently third in the nation with 22.6 points per game.

Coastal will travel to Savannah, Ga., to face Savannah State University Monday, Feb. 5 at 7 p.m.
