Through 18 games, two Chanticleers average 10-plus points per game -- Angelica Henry (10.3) and AJ Jordan (10.2).
Coastal is 6-3 at home and only 1-8 away from The HTC Center this season. Since the 2003-04 season the Chanticleer are 83-39 when playing in Conway.
Coastal's guard combo of Shatia Cole, Angelica Henry and AJ Jordan have accounted for 536 of the Chants' 1,016 points (52.7 percent) this season.
AJ Jordan posted an 11-point, 11-rebound effort at Longwood to record her third career double-double and the Chants' fifth of the season. The Chants only recorded four double-doubles all of last season.
The Chants And The Eagles
This will be the 77th all-time meeting between longtime Big South rivals Winthrop and Coastal Carolina. However, due to the new 18-game league schedule this season, this will also be the only time the Chants and Eagles face each other this season. It marks the first time since the 1985-86 season that the two sides meet only once during the regular season.
A Look At Winthrop
Winthrop, under the direction of first-year head coach Kevin Cook, may appear short-handed on paper with only nine active players, but the Eagles have the services of Big South Preseason Player of the Year Dequesha McClanahan. McClanahan enters the game as the league's leading scorer, averaging 18.2 points per game overall and 21.4 points per conference game.
In addition to McClanahan, Winthrop also features 3-point sharpshooter Diana Choibekova (58 made 3-pointers this season) and three-time Big South Freshman of the Week Shaquilla Nunn. Nunn nearly averages a double-double with 9.2 points and 10.8 rebounds.
Jordan On The Boards
Sophomore AJ Jordan set a career-high with 11 rebounds as part of her third career double-double at Longwood on Jan. 19. Jordan, a 5-8 guard, is Coastal's second-leading rebounder at 6.3 caroms per game. The Coalfield, Tenn., product ranks 16th in the Big South in overall rebounding and 13th in defensive rebounds at 4.17 per game.
On This Date
Coastal Carolina holds a 0-12 record in games played on Jan. 24 since the 1985-86 season (Coastal Carolina's record book reflects dates back to the 1985-86 season). Coastal fell in tight contest at Liberty, 54-58, in 2011, its most recent Jan. 24 matchup. The Chants first played on Jan. 24 during the 1985-86 season, falling 61-74 at Longwood. Coastal is 0-7 on Jan. 24 during the LeForce era.
10 Will Have To Do
Due to injuries the Chanticleers are down to 10 active players for the rest of the season. Coastal entered the season with a 13-player roster, but injuries to freshman Megan Pittman, redshirt freshman Keyaurna Wilson and sophomore Jena Hamrick have left the Chants with only 10 active players.
Hamrick Out For The Season
Sophomore reserve guard Jena Hamrick will miss the remainder of the season with a knee injury. The Fort Wayne, Ind., product appeared in each of Coastal's 16 previous games, averaging 1.1 points and 2.3 boards per contest.
