Lori Whitaker enters her third season on the Coastal Carolina staff this fall.

She serves as the program's guard position coach. Additionally, her responsibilities include assisting with recruiting as well as acting as the team's scouting coordinator.

During her first season as an assistant on LeForce's staff the Chanticleers finished with a 10-19 record. Under Whitaker's tutelage Sydnei Moss earned All-Big South honors and Katie White was named the Big South Scholar-Athlete of the Year. Additionally, Moss earned player of the week honors.

In 2011-12 under the guidance of Whitaker, senior guard Olivia Irick connected on 44 3-pointers to permanently position herself as one of the most lethal sharpshooters in the history of Coastal basketball. Irick would finish her career ranked seventh on the CCU all-time made 3-pointers list with 117. Also in 2011-12 freshman point guard Shatia Cole turned in one of the most memorable rookie campaigns in school history. Cole tied the Coastal all-time mark with four Big South Freshman of the Week honors on her way to becoming the program's eighth Big South All-Freshman Team selection.

As a former guard for the Chanticleers, Whitaker saw action in a total of 34 games and totaled 113 points, a .424 field goal percentage, and 34 rebounds.

A native of Bloomington, Ind., Whitaker holds a B.A. in sports management.
