The Coastal Carolina women’s basketball team, coming off a dominant 79-53 win over High Point last Tuesday at home, will look to keep its momentum going on the road as the Chanticleers head to in-state and Big South rival Winthrop on Saturday for a 1 p.m. game.
Ced Gibson matched her career high in points with 24 and Yasmin Miller recorded the first Chanticleer double-double of the season as Coastal Carolina (8-14, 3-10) knocked off fifth-place High Point (8-14, 7-6) 79-53 Tuesday night at The HTC Center. The win snaps Coastal’s five-game losing streak that started on Jan. 19.

After trailing for three quarters of play, Coastal Carolina (7-14, 2-10) outscored Asheville (18-4, 10-2) by seven points in the fourth quarter to force the Chanticleers’ first overtime game of the season. The Bulldogs, however, scored 11 points in the extra period to escape with a 77-69 win Saturday afternoon inside Kimmel Arena.
