Men's Cross Country Places 26th at NCAA Southeast Regionals

CLEMMONS, N.C. -- The Coastal Carolina University men's cross country team finished 26th at the 2008 NCAA Southeast Regional Championships in Clemmons, N.C. It was the Chanticleers' first 10k race of the season. The Chanticleers picked up 718 points in the race, while William and Mary (66 points) edged out Virginia (67 points) to take home the team title.

Coastal Carolina's top runner was junior Jamie McCarthy (Riverstick, Ireland/North Monastery) who finished 43rd in a field of 212 runners with a time of 31:57.9 Freshman Kyle Kling (Louisville, Ohio/Louisville) was next to click in with a time of 34:27.2.

Sophomores Kevin Davis (Horsham, Pa./Hatboro Horsham) and redshirt freshman Rob Delviscio (Morton, Pa./Ridley) were next across the line followed by sophomore Travis Owens (Fort Mill, S.C./Fort Mill)  and junior David Mead (Columbia, S.C./Ridgeview)

Liberty's Sam Chelenga paced the field finishing with a time of 29:53.4.
