Men's Cross Country Concludes Season at NCAA Regionals
LOUISVILLE, Ky.– The Coastal Carolina men's cross country team concluded its season competing in the NCAA Southeast Regional, Nov. 10, at Sawyer Park in Louisville, Ky. Senior Blair Paul (Queenston, Ontario/Sir Winston Churchill) posted a personal best for the Chanticleers in the 10K race. The region includes all 48 Division I schools in North Carolina, South Carolina and Kentucky.
Paul finished in 99th place out of 200 runners in 32:35.85. Both Paul's time and finish at the meet were personal bests, who's previous top 10k mark was 33:23 and previous best place was 131st. Senior Jake Morris (Aiken, S.C./Aiken), the only other Chanticleer to compete, did not finish the race due to illness.
"I'm really proud of Blair Paul, going out with a personal best," Head Coach Jeff Jacobs said. "As team captain, he had a great senior season."
Liberty's Josh McDougal won the meet with a 29:30.70 mark, helping the Flames to a fifth place finish. North Carolina State claimed the team championship with 69 points.
