Kling Named Big South Men's Cross Country Runner of the Week

CHARLOTTE, N.C.-For the second time this season, sophomore men’s cross country runner Kyle Kling has been named the Big South Choice Hotels Men’s Cross Country Runner of the Week, announced by the league today (Oct. 7).

Kling earned to accolade after placing in 37th out of 386 in the Paul Short Run in Bethlehem, Pa., on Friday, Oct. 2 with a personal-best time of 24:27, cutting off 44 seconds of his previous 8k time. Kling had the best finish and time of any Chanticleer that has ever participated in the Paul Short.

The Louisville, Ohio, native earned Runner of the Week on Sept. 8 after winning the Gamecock Open (5k) with a time of 15:19.39.

Cross Country will return to action again on Friday, Oct. 16 as they travel to Boone, N.C., to participate in the Blue Ridge Open hosted by Appalachian State.
