Cross Country Finishes 6th at Big South Preview

RADFORD, Va.- The Coastal Carolina men’s cross country team placed sixth in the Big South Preview hosted by Radford University. Coastal tallied 175 points on the day. High Point, who was the runner up in the 2009 Big South Championship, won the event with a total team score of 38. Virginia Military Institute finished second with 48 points; followed by Winthrop (71) and UNC Asheville (98). Radford rounded out the top five with 140 team points. Liberty and Charleston Southern were not in attendance.

The meet was the first at the 8-kilometer distance for the Chanticleers. Crossing the finish line first for the Chants was junior Kyle Kling. Kling, who has lead Coastal in each meet this season, finished fourth overall with a time of 26:32.16.

Freshman Cameron Wells finished second for the Chants and 43rd overall with a 29:31.91. Just over 20 seconds behind Wells was junior Rob Delviscio in 46th place finishing the meet in 29:58.70.

Rounding out the finishers for the Chanticleers were sophomore Spencer Lange and freshman Andre Enoch with times of 31:26.41 and 31:55.08 respectively.

The Chanticleers will take the next 19 days off to rest up and prepare for the Blue Ridge Mountain Open hosted by Appalachian State in Boone, N.C.
