"Jamie McCarthy had a great race today," Head Coach Jeff Jacobs said. "He took control of the race in the second mile and ran a strong even pace all the way through to the finish. Ryan Caputo continues to have a much improved season with his second place finish today."

Coming in seventh with a time of 20:30.51was freshman Jarod Williams while junior David Mead finished 14th with a time of 21:25.03. Rounding out the field for the Chanticleers was Spencer Lange with a time of 22:34.19.

The Chanticleers will continue their 2009 campaign when they travel to Bethlehem, Pa. for the Paul Short Run 8k on Oct. 2.

"We were a little short handed today without (Kyle) Kling and (Josh) Tormasi in the line-up today," Jacobs said. "Hopefully we will be back to full strength by The Paul Short Run where we will see a much higher level of competition."
