Men’s Track and Field's Kipchiris Recognized for Academic Achievements

CONWAY, S.C.- Coastal Carolina men’s track and field runner Terah Kipchiris (Kitale, Kenya/Saboti Secondary (Kenyatta)) was recognized for his outstanding achievements in the classroom this past semester by the United States Track and Field Coaches Association, earning a place to its 2005 All-Academic Track and Field Team.

Kipchiris was a member of the 2005 Big South Track and Field All-Academic Team with a grade point average of 3.7 in psychology.

Requirements for the USTFCA All-Academic team in Track and Field include having qualified for the 2005 Outdoor Track and Field NCAA Regional Championships, which Kipchiris did in the 3,000m steeplechase, as well as obtaining cumulative grade point average of 3.25 or above

"Terah Kipchiris capped of a brilliant career at Coastal by qualifying for the National Championships in the 3,000m steeplechase and graduating with an excellent academic record," head coach Jeff Jacobs commented.

Kipchiris is now a graduate student at Frostburg State in Maryland.
