Watson Ties for 12th In High Jump at U.S. Track and Field Championships

EUGENE, ORE. - Coastal Carolina high jumper Jacques Watson tied for 12th at the 2009 U.S. Outdoor Track and Field Championships at historic Hayward Field in Eugene, Ore.
Watson cleared 2.15m (7' 0.5") on his third and final attempt at the opening height of the meet, the highest opening height he has ever competed at. He then missed all three attempts at 2.20m (7' 2.5") and tied for 12th out of the 25 competitors. This was Watson's first appearance at the U.S. Outdoor Championships. Tora Harris won the event as he was the only one to clear 2.31m (7' 7").
