EUGENE, Ore. - Coastal Carolina University men's track and field's Mark Manno (Lebanon, Pa./Cedar Crest) and Jason Jensen (Myrtle Beach, S.C./Carolina Forest) had outstanding performances in the hammer throw at the 2009 USA Track and Field's Junior Championships June 26 in Eugene, Ore. Manno finished fourth, while Jensen was sixth in the 35-man field, far exceeding their seeding at the meet.
 
Manno threw 209-4 (63.80 meters) on his very first throw for the fourth-place finish, throwing the slightly lighter implement (6kg/13.3lb) vs the college hammer (7.62kg/16lb). Jensen threw 203-1 (61.91 meters) in his sixth of seven attempts to finish in sixth place.
