Mark Johnson to Compete in Pole Vault Finals at NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships

SACRAMENTO, CALIF. – Junior Mark Johnson (North Myrtle Beach, S.C./North Myrtle Beach) tied for first in the preliminaries of the pole vaulting championships at the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships on the campus of Sacramento State Wednesday evening, June 8.

Johnson's 5.15m/16'10.75" tied him for first at the preliminaries with 12 other pole vaulters and will allow him to compete in the finals for the NCAA Pole Vaulting Championship on Friday, June 10 at 9:30 p.m. est

Also for Coastal's men's program senior Terah Kipchiris (Kitale, Kenya/Saboti Secondary) finished 25th in the 3,000m steeplechase with an 8:56.37.

Coastal Carolina's Chasity Johnson (North Charleston, S.C./Fort Dorchester) will compete in the preliminaries for the triple jump on Friday, June 10 at 10:30 p.m est with the finals to be held on Saturday, June 11 at 9:30 p.m. est.
